Jacob Candelaria is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born in the south Broadway community of San Jose, he became the first person in his family to graduate from college when he received his Bachelors in Public Affairs from the Princeton University School of Public and International Affairs in 2009.
Jacob is a 2016, cum laude, graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law. During law school, he served on the editorial board of the law school’s environmental law journal.
He founded Candelaria Law LLC to serve New Mexicans and their families’ legal needs.
Mr. Candelaria serves in the New Mexico State Senate, representing the Westside of the city of Albuquerque (2013-present) and is the immediate past president of the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association.
Jacob and his husband, a resident physician, reside on Albuquerque’s Westside with their beloved dog Rosie.
Devrim Tiryaki is a first generation New Mexican and Turkish-American. Born and raised in Albuquerque, Devrim graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2018 with a degree in economics and political science.
After graduation, he gained a variety of experience in both chambers of the New Mexico Legislature, working directly with legislators on policy and community engagement. Now he is a law student at the University of New Mexico.
Devrim is excited to continue his career in the state he calls home.
