Jacob Candelaria is a native of Albuquerque New Mexico. Born in the south Broadway community of San Jose, Mr. Candelaria became the first person in his family to graduate from college when he received his Bachelors in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University in 2009.
Mr. Candelaria is a 2016, cum laude, graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law. During law school, Mr. Candelaria served as on the editorial board of the law school’s environmental law journal.
Mr. Candelaria founded Candelaria Law LLC to serve the civil legal needs of New Mexico in 2019.
Mr. Candelaria serves in the New Mexico State Senate, representing the Westside of the city of Albuquerque (2013-present) and as president of the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association (2018-present).
Mr. Candelaria and his husband, a resident physician, reside on Albuquerque’s Westside with their beloved dog Rosie.
